Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your name, email, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses.
• Your orders, payments, returns and warranty claims, with any photos you send us.
• What you tell us when you write to us.
• The vehicle you save and other choices you make on the site.
• How you use the site, as the next section describes.

We get this from you, from the site as you use it, and from the companies that process your payment and ship your order.

What we record when you shop

When you shop here, our site records the pages you open, what you click, how long you stay on a page, what you search for, the vehicle you pick and what you add to or remove from your cart. We use this only to make the site easier to shop, and it never includes your name, your email or your full IP address.

A random cookie of ours ties one visit's pages together, and it expires after 30 days. This record is ours alone and is never sold or shared with anyone.

We keep it for 180 days and then delete it. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we record none of this, and only our server's standard log of page requests remains.

How we use it

We use it to take payment, ship your order, keep you updated and handle returns and warranty claims. We also use it to answer your questions, improve the site, stop fraud and keep the records the law requires.

With your consent we may email you offers. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share what each job needs with the companies that host the site, take payment and ship orders. For a delivery, return or warranty claim we share the order's details with the courier, supplier or manufacturer involved.

We also share it when you ask us to, when the law requires it, to stop fraud, or in a sale or merger of our business. Some of these companies keep data outside Canada, under that country's laws.

Our checkout and payments

Our checkout is Orbital Parts' own, and Stripe processes every payment. Your card number goes to Stripe alone, and we never receive or store it.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep your cart, your vehicle and your sign-in, and to keep checkout secure. Blocking them in your browser may stop the cart or checkout from working.

Security and how long we keep it

We guard your information against loss and misuse, though no system is perfectly secure. We keep it only as long as orders, returns, warranty claims, the law and any dispute need, then delete it.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct what we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to a use of it. We may need to confirm who you are first.

If withdrawing consent stops us from filling an order, we tell you before we act.

This site links to other sites, the manufacturer's among them. Their privacy practices are their own.

When we change this policy we publish it here and update the date at the top.
